The Need for Awareness of Veterans and Their Nonprofits
Our country celebrates its heroes, and there is much glory and pride. Nonetheless, there is a much darker side to war that many people do not acknowledge: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and suicide. Many U.S. veterans return from war with severe psychological stress. Of approximately 30,000 deaths from suicide per year in the U.S., about 20% are veterans. As a disabled, former U.S Army Combat Medic, I am deeply concerned over these statistics.
This country therefore needs, now more than ever, initiative from nonprofits, charities, and businesses, to address the mental health needs of our veterans.
Get the Facts
There are over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period. There has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans! Just because they come home, doesn’t mean we stop supporting them! About 18 deaths from suicide per day are Veterans, according to the National Violent Death Reporting System.

The benefits of crowdfunding are endless. This form of fundraising allows you to diversify your sponsors, tap into a larger amount of financial support, and showcase your nonprofit to more people. Hire a Grant Writer to Apply for Grants
Because grant writing may require some time and experience, and running a nonprofit is difficult enough, it is highly recommended that you hire a grant writer.
