The Northeast Earth Coalition, Inc. (NEEC) works at the community level to protect the environment and promote local sustainability and food security. The NEEC supports the work of community and environmental activists who give hope for a better future. The Program Urban Growers promotes local food production, sustainability, and community leadership.

The NEEC has established an educational series of workshops, Gardening for Life, where people interested in learning how to grow their own organic food can learn the basic skills to achieve their purpose. The NEEC also provides startup micro grants to support new gardens or assist at the beginning of the new gardening season. The impact of these community gardens in their communities is extremely positive because they bring people together; neighbors work together for this common cause. It is has been proven to reduce crime and ease the challenge of providing healthy food for low income families.

The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to obtain funds to support the Urban Growers Program and to expand the program to other communities in need.
